About Bart Haeck

I am a journalist living and working in Belgium, born in Bruges in 1977 and living near Brussels with my girlfriend, son (°2007) and daughter (°2010). I studied Law in Ghent and started working for the electronic newswire of the business daily De Tijd in 2000, covering technology companies and financial markets. In 2003 I started covering Belgian politics.

Between November 2006 and June 2009 I led a team of Brussels based journalists and foreign correspondents covering Belgian, European and international politics and economy for De Tijd.

Since June 2009 I cover Belgian politics and economy on a full time basis for De Tijd newspaper and website. I also write editorials and a weekly column in the weekend edition of the newspaper on these topics.
